John,

Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update.

On Friday evening, I attended the Republican Party of Pennsylvania's Annual Lincoln Day Dinner. We were joined by the State Treasurer Stacy Garrity, Auditor General Tim DeFoor, and GOP-endorsed Attorney General candidate Dave Sunday. I had the pleasure of introducing our featured speaker, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson under President Donald J. Trump. Secretary Carson spoke about the importance of re-electing President Trump. President Trump called into the dinner and expressed the importance the Keystone State will play in his re-election. I am committed to making sure we win Pennsylvania for President Trump.

Prior to the dinner, I joined PA GOP Chair Lawrence Tabas and our great friend Bob Asher in a presentation to Republican leaders from across the state on the “Bank your vote” program, and how we can have fair and secure elections. We must work to re-elect President Trump to the White House, elect Dave McCormick for the U.S. Senate, expand our majority in the U.S. House, win our statewide row offices, and have big wins in the State Senate and House in Harrisburg.

From the crisis at our southern border to rising inflation under Bidenomics, this Administration’s policies are failing the American people. House Republicans will continue to fight against Joe Biden’s liberal agenda and for policies that move our country forward. Click here or below to watch my interview on Newsmax.

Everything the Biden Administration does is slow and late. There is no steam coming out of this White House until a crisis manifests to the highest level. From his appeasement of Iran to his unwillingness to secure the border, Joe Biden is failing the American people. Check out my interview on Fox News Radio. Click here or below to listen.

Over the years, the liberal left has adopted a policy of insulting hardworking Americans who don't blindly adopt their crazy positions. Remember when Hillary Clinton called Trump supporters "deplorable" or Barack Obama referencing how some Americans "cling to guns or religion," well here comes Congresswoman Susan Wild, aka San Fran Susan, with another insulting depiction of hardworking Americans. She chose to denigrate the people of Carbon County because they don't share her extreme leftwing beliefs. Before redistricting, I represented Carbon County and the hardworking salt of the earth people and they live in one of the most beautiful areas of the nation. In response, I wrote an op-ed to the Times News. Click here to read. Additionally, I joined Newsmax's "American Agenda" to discuss this issue further. Click here or below to watch.

The Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act is pro-growth, pro-small business, and pro-America. I was happy to vote in favor of the legislation, and I urge my Senate colleagues to quickly pass the bill so Main Street America has the tools they need to thrive. Check out my full statement on the legislation by clicking here.

It was a pleasure to welcome the Lebo family to Washington this week as the House passed my legislation to rename the post office in Lebanon in Lt. William Lebo’s honor. For forty years, Lt. Lebo dedicated his life to protecting and serving the Lebanon community. He was a loving father, husband, and son, who gave his life in service to others. He will be remembered as the model of what law enforcement officers should be, and our community continues to mourn his passing. It is my hope that renaming the post office in the city Lt. Lebo loved will serve as a lasting recognition of his remarkable life and legacy, during which he always put service above self. I thank my colleagues for unanimously supporting this legislation as we strive to honor a dedicated public servant who meant such a great deal to the Lebanon community. This week, I, along with Congressman Guy Reschenthaler, Congressman Lloyd Smucker, and Senator JD Vance, wrote to the Biden Administration urging them to reconsider and reverse its misguided decision to pause pending approvals of liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. By fostering a robust natural gas industry, we stimulate investment, enhance domestic manufacturing, and create well-paying jobs across various sectors – all while protecting our national security, bolstering strategic alliances, and ensuring our energy dominance. Earlier this week, I asked witnesses why Congressman Andy Barr's bill is the best tool to effectively keep American dollars out of sensitive Chinese industries that pose a national security threat. The best way to combat China is strong sanctions while maintaining free markets. Click here or below to watch my remarks.

During our Small Business Committee markup, I spoke in favor of my colleague Rep. Greg Landsman's bill H.R. 6156, the Child Care Small Business Insight and Improvement Act. Accessible and affordable childcare is crucial for parents in the workforce, allowing them to focus on their careers and entrepreneurial endeavors while ensuring the safety and development of their children. Small businesses and local chambers in Pennsylvania’s 9th District have stressed the importance of reliable childcare for small business owners and the local economy. This bill directs the SBA to study the needs and challenges of for-profit childcare providers and aims to enhance overall availability and affordability, benefiting both childcare providers and small businesses. I look forward to supporting this legislation on the House Floor. Click here or below to watch.

I attended a meeting this week hosted by the Washington Coal Club, where leaders in the coal industry from around the country gathered to hear from my friend Congressman Andy Barr who shared his efforts within the Financial Services Committee to address discriminatory lending practices tied to the ESG movement. He emphasized the crucial role of coal in powering America's electricity grid and expressed concerns about ESG standards threatening energy projects nationwide. In Congress, I will continue to oppose unfair ESG lending practices, while working towards creating a supportive environment for the growth of our domestic energy industry.

I want to thank the National Police Association for its endorsement of my Holding Prosecutors Accountable Act. This bill will force ideological prosecutors to do their jobs, support the work of our brave law enforcement officers, and help curb violent crime in our cities. Click here or below to read.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Before Biden took office, peace agreements were being signed in the Middle East. In just three years, Biden surrendered Afghanistan to the Taliban, terrorists have attacked Israel, and Iranian proxies have targeted American troops in over 165 attacks just since October.

There’s only one word to describe Biden’s approach to foreign policy: failure. It’s a failure made starker by the Biden administration’s own predictions. For example: Just days before the October 7thattack, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan brazenly claimed, “the Middle East region is quieter today than it has been in two decades.”

Fast forward to this week, when Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated, “We have not seen a situation as dangerous as the one we’re facing now across [the Middle East] since at least 1973.”

They predicted peace but brought chaos. Any other administration would look at these results and change course. But what is the Biden administration doing to correct its mistakes in the Middle East? Doubling down.

The Biden administration has failed to take action to limit Iran’s ability to fund their proxies while openly telegraphing their response to the attack that killed three U.S. troops, allowing Iran and their proxies to prepare.

Here’s the point: Since Biden took office, he has repeatedly called himself an “expert” on foreign policy.  Yet, this “expert” has only orchestrated one foreign policy disaster after another.

We are well into the period to circulate nominating petitions to place candidates on the ballot. We can continue to collect petition signatures through Tuesday, February 13. I am asking for volunteers to help circulate my petitions for Congress in the 9th District. Additionally, we have petitions to collect signatures for President Donald J. Trump and other statewide candidates. Please email Nate at [email protected] to contact our campaign to get copies of petitions. We appreciate your support.

It was a great night at 1787 Brewing Company in Hamburg for a petition signing event. Thank you to Pat Daly and all who attended.

On Saturday morning, we held a great petition-signing event at the Bunker Hill Fire Company in Lebanon County with Rep. Russ Diamond. I also got the opportunity to talk about the importance of support for volunteer fire companies with the leadership of the Bunker Hill Fire Company.

After that event, I was happy to join Kay Zern Community & Veterans Outreach for a luncheon in Lebanon to honor the brave men and women who served our country. We owe a debt of gratitude to all of our nation’s veterans who put service above self to protect the United States. Thank you to Sal Santori for putting this event together and for all you do to advocate for veterans.

We look forward to catching up with you next week. God Bless, and see you soon,
