Last weekend, I had the privilege of honoring Texas Ranger Major Grover Huff, who served as the Company Commander of Company “A,” which spans 35 counties, since 2018.
After serving with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Bridge City Police Department, and Texas Highway Patrol, Major Huff spent 27 years with the legendary Texas Rangers, where he distinguished himself as an expert investigator. On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, Major Huff hung up the signature cowboy hat and unpinned his fifty-peso Ranger badge for the last time.
I’ve never felt safer than in a room with nearly 50 Texas Rangers, past and present, along with many other distinguished law enforcement officers. It was a privilege to join so many in recognizing the dutiful service of this outstanding individual.
