It was another busy week working on important issues facing our state, our nation, and the world. Rest assured, I am fighting each day to keep our communities safe and uphold the values of our district. Read below for an update on my work serving you.

My Ongoing Fight to Secure Our Nation

There is an invasion taking place at our southern border, a national security crisis of Biden’s making. Millions of fighting age men are making their way into our communities and draining American resources. Bad actors are smuggling deadly fentanyl onto our streets and cartel members are terrorizing our communities with human trafficking and violent crime. The only actions taken by the President, is to retaliate against and target patriots who are putting their lives on the line to safeguard our nation. I held a press conference with my colleagues showcasing the threat at our border and demanding this administration take action. Watch here.

Impeaching Mayorkas

Under Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas’ policies, encounters at our southern border continue to climb with no relief in sight. His failed policies at our border have put American lives in jeopardy. Because of this, I believe he is unfit to lead the DHS. Following a nearly year-long investigation by the House Committee on Homeland Security into the causes, costs, and consequences of the historic border crisis, we have concluded that DHS Secretary Mayorkas is "chiefly responsible for the chaos and devastation that has unfolded over the past three years." Having exhausted all other options to hold him accountable, I support the impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas.

House Passed Legislation to Protect Border Patrol Agents

I am a proud cosponsor of legislation to protect our Border Patrol agents, law enforcement officials, and local communities from the countless dangers of Biden’s open southern border. The men and women of law enforcement put their lives on the line each day to keep us safe, and it is crucial we support them at every opportunity.

Holding Biden Accountable to Protect Our Troops

Our Commander in Chief has bribed and appeased terrorists, and left our troops to pay the price. Time and time again, he has cowered down to put America last and negotiate with evil. The drone attack on American troops was avoidable, and Joe Biden is to blame. The U.S. must show unwavering strength towards those who wish to do us harm. May God bless the 3 soldiers killed in this horrific attack and heal the injured.

Leading Transparent Labeling in the Agriculture Industry

Americans deserve to know what they're eating. This begins with transparent labeling laws. The FAIR Packaging and Labeling Act ensures accurate and fair labeling on alternative meat labels. I am proud to lead this effort alongside my colleague Representative Alford. We cannot allow the American people and our ranching and farming communities to be taken advantage of by those who wish to manipulate them through misleading labeling.

Put America on Commission Act of 2024 Passes Small Business Committee

The SBA’s Office of Inspector General estimates that $200 billion dollars in fraud flowed through the pandemic lending programs. We must think of innovative ways to help get this money back for the American people, and as a business owner, I know that incentives matter. The Put America on Commission Act of 2024 will empower people to provide information to the Inspector General and be rewarded monetarily. Commission works, and I am happy to bring my private sector experience to the forefront within the Committee on Small Business. Read my full release here.

House Financial Services Committee

This week, the House Financial Services Committee held two subcommittee hearings examining national security in the financial sector and federal banking proposals under the Biden administration. Watch my lines of questioning here and here.

Condemning the CFBP's Overreach

I spoke to the Consumer Credit Industry Association about how the CFPB is overreaching in their attempt to regulate the business of insurance. Overburdening regulations and red tape are hurting Main Street.
