John,
Thank you to everyone who stepped up to help us hit our Kansas Day Goal at the very end of January. Hitting these fundraising benchmarks each month is imperative to helping us stay on track to elect more Democrats who will stand up for hardworking Kansans.
To be successful in November, we’ll need more than just money. Having strong candidates running in Republican-held districts across the state will put us in a better position to break the fragile Republican legislative supermajorities.
So we’re asking, if you live in a Republican-held seat, will you step up for democracy and run for the Kansas House or Senate? Let us know if you’re interested or if you know someone who would make a great candidate. [[link removed]]
While flipping a district from Republican to Democrat is important, there a variety of other reasons that make running for office worthwhile: ensuring your Republican legislator is held accountable for their votes and words, advocating on the issues impacting our state, giving back to your community, or building your local Democratic Party for years to come.
We realize running for office can be a big commitment in time and effort. That’s why we are committed to providing ongoing training and coaching, free voter data access, and other strategic support to anyone who’s willing to run.
So what are you waiting for? Sign up and let’s have a conversation about running for the State House or State Senate. [[link removed]]
With the candidate filing deadline in June, the primary in August, and the general election in November, there’s no time to lose. But Kansas Dems and our partners are ready to help you.
Thank you for considering running for the legislature or offering suggestions of community members who would make great candidates themselves.
