John,
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of voters relying on mail-in voting has drastically increased each year. Not only is mail-in voting essential to the sick, disabled, homebound, and elderly, it also makes voting easier and more accessible for millions. People with children or jobs with irregular shifts find vote-by-mail to be convenient for them. Regardless of the reason someone chooses to vote by mail, they deserve absolute confidence that their ballot is safe and their vote will be counted.
However, not all states offer systems to track mail-in ballots, and those that do have systems that are far less reliable than those used when tracking a regular package. This leaves millions of voters in the dark about their vote's status.
This inconsistency is unacceptable and erodes trust in our democratic process, but Rep. Katie Porter has introduced a solution in the Vote By Mail Tracking Act. Sign here to become a grassroots sponsor.
The Vote By Mail Tracking Act has received bipartisan support, which represents a pivotal shift towards our country’s reliance on mail-in voting. It’s time Congress steps up and ensures that every mail-in ballot is securely trackable. It’s 2024, we have the technology to do this.
Porter’s Vote By Mail Tracking Act will mandate USPS barcodes on all mail-in ballots for easy tracking. It also requires standardized ballot envelopes, including the Official Election Mail Logo, to enhance security and accessibility for all voters.

Thank you. We all deserve to feel confident that our votes matter.
