Montana's Child Protective Services (CPS) faces intense scrutiny over allegations of forcibly relocating a 14-year-old girl from her Montana family to Wyoming for gender transition treatment, resulting in the revocation of her parents' custody. This occurred despite the passage of Montana’s Senate Bill 99 in April 2023, explicitly prohibiting the medical transitioning of minors.
The Kolstad family, entangled in a legal and emotionally charged struggle, witnessed their daughter transported to Wyoming against their explicit disapproval. Events unfolded in August, significantly impacting the Kolstad’s, as their daughter, facing sudden onset "gender dysphoria," was taken to Wyoming by Montana CPS, sidestepping the state's laws. The case involves mental health concerns, alleged self-harm threats, and clashes between parental rights and state intervention.
In August 2023, the Kolstad’s were notified of their daughter's alleged suicidal thoughts and self-harm attempts. Despite finding no evidence of harm in the hospital, the girl, now identifying as "Leo," was admitted for observation. The hospital staff continued to address the girl as "Leo" and discussed gender transition measures, violating State Bill 99. Despite the Kolstad’s willingness to provide mental health care, their daughter was eventually transported to Wyoming, a state with different laws regarding transitioning children.

In Wyoming, the girl underwent social transition measures like chest binding and is considered for birth control to halt menstruation. The case takes an international turn as the girl may be sent to live with her biological mother in Canada, where Dr. Wallace Wong practices, a psychiatrist with controversial views on treating "trans" kids in foster care.  
Montana Governor Greg Gianforte acknowledged the tragic case but faced criticism for a lack of details on whether the child was removed due to the parents' refusal to support her gender identity. Gianforte also vetoed House Bill 37 in 2023, which was written to prevent such occurrences by requiring a court warrant before any child can be removed. As the legal battle unfolds, the Kolstad’s are under a gag order, facing contempt of court for speaking out. The case underscores challenges in navigating parental rights, mental health, and gender identity.
It's unimaginable that this story unfolds in America, highlighting the need for a comprehensive Parental Bill of Rights passed in every state, especially after the US House of Representatives passed a bill that failed at the Senate level.
This isn't the first time such a tale has unfolded, but each occurrence adds complexity to conversations about mental health, parental authority, and gender transition for minors. The case is a deeply personal tragedy striking at parental rights and individual freedoms. A child was taken without consent, transported across state lines, deemed a federal felony, and faces potential deportation—an alarming violation of protections safeguarding American families. The Kolstad family's ordeal serves as a chilling reminder that no family is immune to legal complexities, emphasizing the delicate balance between state intervention and parental rights in decisions about their children.
The Battle for Parental Rights Rages On in Montana!  
In 2023, the fight for parental rights unfolded across the nation with 60 Parental Bill of Rights bills introduced in 24 states, including Montana's SB337. Unfortunately, the bill, sponsored by Senator Theresa Manzella [R], faced a setback in March, as all 16 Democrats, along with 9 Republicans, voted against its advancement in the third reading, leading to its failure.
The Nefarious Nine Republicans who voted against Parental Rights include Sen. Chris Friedel, Sen. Bruce Gillespie, Sen. Wendy McKamey, Sen. Walt Sales, Sen. Daniel Salomon, Sen. Jason Small, Sen. Russel Tempel, Sen. Terry Vermeire, Sen. Susan Webber, Sen. Jeffrey Welborn.
Sources reveal that the agency responsible for removing this child from her parent's custody played a role in pressuring Montana Senators resulting in the Nefarious Nine Republicans voting with Democrats to oppose the fundamental rights of families.
In response to growing concerns, the state enacted SB 99 in April of the same year, explicitly banning all forms of 'gender-affirming care' for minors. While this legislation addresses a significant aspect of parental rights, the question remains: Did the Nefarious Nine believe that passing this law would suffice in appeasing constituents? Now, with a child removed from her family under dubious circumstances, the responsibility to ensure proper observation and enforcement of SB 99 rests on the shoulders of state lawmakers. The urgency to address this matter cannot be overstated, as the potential for setting dangerous legal precedents and causing irreversible harm looms over this family."
Call a Special Legislative Session! Montana's state legislature remains dormant until January 2025, but the urgency of the parental crisis demands immediate action. Demand a special session to expose the sinister connection between the agency snatching kids and the cowardice of the Nefarious Nine, who abandoned parental rights legislation under pressure.
Investigate the Hospital and CPS for Violating SB99 and Gross Abuse of Power. Allegations against the hospital reveal potential violations of SB99, including the secret use of a male name despite the family's objections, discussions about elective top surgery, and claims of operating in the gray area of the law.
Investigate for Potential Felony Kidnapping Including Crossing State Lines. The law is clear, and there was no legal basis for the hospital or CPS interventions. They violated state law by removing the child from parental custody, trafficked her across state lines, and are exploring the unthinkable—trafficking her, a US citizen, out of the country!
Call on the Governor to issue an executive order to immediately intervene and restore this child to her parents until a determination can be made through a state legislature investigative hearing.
