Congresswoman Lesko Weekly Update

It was another busy week here in Washington. I would like to encourage you to share this newsletter with others. Please direct them using this link and encourage them to subscribe.

Lesko Meetings this Week

It was great meeting with Arizona State University and the Association of American Universities to discuss the important scientific research happening in Arizona!

It was great meeting with Anthony Livanios, CEO of US Energy Stream, to discuss energy policy and the terrible decision by the Biden Administration to limit LNG exports which will have a disastrous effect on the American natural gas industry.

Lesko Staves Off Brutal Biden Regulation

See here how my Save Our Gas Stoves Act prevented more burdensome regulations from the Department of Energy.

I’ll continue to fight back to protect consumer choice and stop Biden’s radical agenda!

Lesko in Committee

Why has the EPA refused to address concerns on conflicts of interest in their MASSIVE nonprofit giveaways? Why has the EPA been so secretive on green energy funding given their long history of misusing taxpayer $$$?

Biden’s radical climate agenda is having detrimental impacts on Native American tribes and ruining the livelihoods of the people in its path. They have no business destroying the Snake River Dams that so many people rely on.

On August 23, 2023, the Select Subcommittee on COVID sent HHS a letter with questions about a potential illegal biolab in California. HHS only handed over what was already publicly available on their website – NOT what we asked for.

Why is HHS so hesitant to be honest to Congress and American taxpayers?

GET THE FACTS: Biden's Border Lies

Lately, the media has been flooded with articles about the U.S. Senate and Biden’s border deal. While it may seem like President Biden is finally interested in securing the border, that’s not the case. The U.S. House already passed a border bill and the Democrat-controlled Senate has sat on it for several months, refusing to take it up for a vote. That’s because the Democrats and President Biden are not actually interested in securing the border. They don’t want to build the wall, they don’t want to end catch and release, and they don’t want to reinstate ‘Remain in Mexico.’ They want more migrants, more funding for asylum seekers, and more processing to release migrants into our nation faster. We cannot allow this. House Republicans are fighting to secure the border. We need the Senate to take up H.R. 2. We need the Biden Administration to do their job and secure the border before millions more migrants come flooding in.

Around the District

Team Lesko attended Surprise Mayor Skip Halls’ breakfast with pastors. It was great getting to connect to constituents and faith leaders in the district.

Team Lesko joined the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting to welcome Someburros to Norterra!

Team Lesko joined the Glendale Chamber of Commerce for their weekly business over breakfast event, which provides a space for members and business owners to network and discuss local activities.

Casework Highlight

A constituent, who is a Veteran, could not get the Veterans Administration (VA) to pay for emergency transport and emergency room bills, even though it was a covered expense. We contacted the VA for them to review the issue. The VA corrected the processing error they made and paid the medical bill.
