Hi ,
I'd like to start by telling y'all a story — fitting for a book club, I know, and this particular story happens to be true.
Our team came up with the idea for our Anti-Fascist Book Club during our last retreat. We knew moms like us would have to tackle the extremism that's taken over Texas and the country — but we wanted some tools, some resources, some tips... and sadly, Google failed us.
So we knew we'd have to build this ourselves.
Last month more than 300 mothers, and others like us, signed up for the very first session of our Anti-Fascist Book Club. **Our 1st book club was the largest virtual event our organization has ever thrown.**
As the saying goes... **knowledge is power.**
Our organization turned out in record numbers because all of us know what's at stake this year. It's on us to do whatever it takes to combat the growing fascist sentiment.
And because all of you proved just how powerful our book club could be, we've set an even **bigger** goal for our next meeting — getting 500 people to join us.

This month, we'll be reading *Mr. Texas*, Pulitzer Prize winner Lawrence Wright's satiric account about the kitschy weirdness of Texas politics.
