UPDATE: Hate Crime Bills are Back!

Dear Friends,

You might remember our reports last summer on the proposed "hate crime" bills which threatened freedom of speech in Michigan. Those bills have been updated and are now back in the Senate as SB 600 and SB 601.

Here's what we know.

The updated language is slightly better than previous versions, but these bills are still a significant threat to our constitutionally protected religious liberties. We cannot allow this legislation to pass in its current state!

Even something as simple as reading specific Bible verses could easily be charged as a hate crime under these bills. That's why we are asking you to call your senator and encourage them to vote for Senator Jim Runestad's amendments. He is proposing changes that would protect religious freedoms.

Watch his video for more details:

ACTION NEEDED:

Call or email your senator TODAY. Tell them to VOTE NO on SB 600 & 601 because these bills threaten religious freedoms for all Michigan citizens. Ask them to support Sen. Runestad's amendments!
