ATPAC's mission to determine the best possible candidates to serve WE THE PEOPLE is to scrutinize voting records of the candidates and ascertain whether or not the laws they enact adhere to constitutional authority.
We hope that Congressman Edwards comes to the February 3rd event at A B Tech to defend his 70% conservative voting record from Heritage Action for America's scorecard (which is below the abysmal 79% average Republican score.) govtrack.us gives Edwards a "Purple" score with the assessment "Consistently votes with Democrats on legislation that became law."
We are sure he had his reasons for voting for these bills.
As citizens of NC11, we surely do deserve an explanation because our elected officials are supposed to serve their constituents. As engaged citizens, WE then have a moral and ethical obligation and a civic duty to thoughtfully decide which of the candidates would best preserve the principles and values in our Constitition and to best represent the citizens of NC11.
It is only in the primary that we have this opportunity to scrutinize the candidates. After the primary, we have no choice of candidate in the general election.
Remember, our Founders in their infinite wisdom to divide government, gave us the gift to elect our U.S. House every two years so WE can hold our representatives accountable.
Let the PEOPLE decide what's best for our nation and for NC11.
