Friends,
We hope you are well and safe.
The Colorado Democratic Party made the tough but necessary decision to postpone our April 18th Obama Dinner. We made a decision in accordance with the advice offered by public health officials and the recommendations of Colorado state and local officials. We will honor all ticket and table sales for our rescheduled dinner.
The Obama Dinner is the number one source of fundraising to pay for our 2020 Win Plan -- and we still must win in 2020 -- for the sake of all of us. While postponing the dinner was the right decision, it left us with a budget gap of $200,000 in raising to fund our 2020 Win Plan.
In 2018, the resources raised at the Obama dinner allowed us to execute an aggressive strategy that led to historic sweeps of statewide offices, majorities in the legislature and retaining the governorship. In 2019, with your help we were able to defeat 100% of the Republican recalls.
But the most critical election lies ahead for us this November.
With the outbreak of COVID-19, we are seeing how important it is to have responsible leadership in Colorado and Washington DC and that there is a difference in how the parties govern and lead.
This means we need to lean into our dedicated supporters like you, and if you would consider pitching in $25, $50 or whatever, you can to help us bridge the fundraising gap-- you could keep us on track to execute our win plan. We appreciate your support; past, present and future.
