Black History Month is not just a time to reflect on the remarkable accomplishments of African Americans who have shaped our nation's history; it is also an opportunity to look forward and continue the fight for equality and justice. My candidacy for Congress embodies the spirit of progress and positive change that this month represents.

My journey to this point has been one of unwavering dedication to our community and our shared values. As an Army Veteran, I have proudly served our country and defended the freedoms we hold dear. I have witnessed the power of unity and the ability to make a real impact when people come together.

Today, I stand before you as a candidate for Congress because I am tired, and I know you are tired too, of the ineffective representation that has plagued our district for far too long.

Together, we can address the pressing issues facing our communities: the protection of a woman's right to choose, the burden of rising prescription drug prices, and the need for fair wages that allow everyone to seize economic opportunities.

In these challenging times, experience matters. I have the proven track record of leadership and service that our district needs. I have demonstrated the ability to get things done and make a positive impact, always striving to work with all people to find common ground and build a brighter future.
