Dear John,
Happy February! It’s been a busy week in Washington, D.C., and I’m excited to share some good news with you.
HONORING DR. MARGARET B. HILL
This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed my bill to rename the Del Rosa Post Office after Dr. Margaret B. Hill, a champion of education from San Bernardino.
I am so pleased that we will soon be able to enshrine her legacy in our community, and I will keep you updated on when this bill becomes law.
Watch my floor speech below:
SUPPORTING INLAND EMPIRE PARENTS AND BUSINESSES
To help lower costs for hardworking parents in the Inland Empire and bolster our local economy, I helped pass the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act in the House of Representatives.
This bipartisan tax agreement increases the Child Tax Credit from $1,600/child per year to $2,000/child per year by 2025, and it provides needed tax relief to help businesses conduct research and development and purchase necessary equipment.
VALENTINES FOR SENIORS
As we approach Valentine’s Day, I am collecting valentines for our seniors! The cards will be distributed to our local senior centers to let our seniors know that someone is thinking of them this Valentine’s Day.
If you would like to write a note for an Inland Empire senior, feel free to download one of my templates here, and drop them off at 685 E. Carnegie Drive, Suite 100 by Friday, February 9.
