Congressman Kim’s Statements Grieving the Loss of Three Servicemembers Killed in Jordan, including Sgt. Rivers of Willingboro, NJ
Over the weekend, three U.S. servicemembers were killed in Jordan. Congressman Kim joined in mourning this tragic loss on Sunday. On Monday, it was announced that one of the soldiers was Sergeant William Jerome Rivers of Willingboro, New Jersey.
Congressman Kim released the following statement grieving his loss:
“Among the three fallen soldiers killed in Jordan this weekend, we grieve for one of South Jersey’s own, Sergeant William Jerome Rivers from Willingboro. He served this country and our local community with great honor and bravery and we are indebted to him and his loved ones for their service and sacrifice. We will never forget what Sergeant Rivers and his fellow fallen soldiers, Spc. Kennedy Ladon Sanders and Spc. Breonna Alexsondria Moffett, gave for our nation. May their memory live on in our continued service to our military families.”
Congressman Kim Votes to Pass Bipartisan Tax Package to Support Local Families and Combat Child Poverty
This week, Congressman Kim helped pass an impactful and bipartisan tax package and released the following statement:
“This bipartisan bill is a big step in putting more money back into the pockets of working parents across New Jersey to help them deal with the stresses of rising costs. By restoring the Child Tax Credit, we can lift approximately 400,000 kids out of poverty; but there’s still more work to be done.
We need to take every step possible to help lower costs for New Jersey families. We had an opportunity to provide SALT relief that would fix added costs that have plagued New Jersey homeowners in the years following the Republican Tax Bill; that opportunity has once again been missed. I will work to hold Republican leadership to their commitment to bring SALT relief to the floor and will continue to advocate for any steps that provide affordability and relief to our communities.”
Marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day
This past Saturday was Holocaust Remembrance Day, an important moment to expose the evil horrors of the Holocaust. Remembering is vital. In honor of the millions of lives Nazism took from this world, we stand against anti-semitism and hate in all forms.
Continuing to Combat Attacks on Reproductive Healthcare
Attempts to limit access to Mifepristone are among the dangerous attacks on reproductive rights since Roe was overturned. This week, Congressman Kim signed onto another amicus brief to the Supreme Court to defend people’s access to this safe and effective medication.
