Washington, D.C. - On Monday, I had a great meeting with students from The Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism in Dallas. We discussed antisemitism in schools and the importance of defending Israeli statehood. Thanks for coming by!

Later, I spoke in support of the actions Texas is taking to stop the mass illegal immigration caused by the Biden Administration. I commend Governor Abbott for holding the line and defending Texans from the Biden border disaster. You can watch my remarks here or by clicking the photo below.

Tuesday, I met with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, including Robert Metzger from Colleyville. We discussed how the AANP supports Nurse Practitioners across the country and opportunities for Congress to advance quality health care solutions.

Then, I spoke on the floor in support of H.R. 5585, The Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act. Named for a heroic agent who lost his life during a high speed chase, this bill gives law enforcement new tools to prosecute & deport illegal immigrants who flee Customs and Border Patrol. You can click the photo below to watch my remarks on the floor in support of this important bill.

After, I was glad to join AFP and retired Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem to discuss the urgent need to secure our border. I’m grateful for Chief Clem and his tireless work to protect Americans and our national security!

Then, I joined fellow Texans at the Texas State Society to celebrate all that DFW Airport has done for our region in its 50 years!

Wednesday, I joined my Committee on Small Business colleagues to advance pro-growth policies that empower our job creators. You'll be pleased to know that all nine bills considered were unanimously passed by my colleagues on both sides of the aisle. You can read more about the bills here.

I enjoyed speaking with the Building Owners and Managers Association of Fort Worth about workforce solutions. I’m co-sponsoring H.R. 1477, the Freedom to Invest in Tomorrow’s Workforce Act, which would solve a critical workforce issue by allowing education savings accounts to pay for post-secondary training or credential programs. I'm glad I got the chance to discuss this legislation with them!

Later, I voted in favor of two bills that will help protect Americans from Biden’s disastrous open borders. H.R. 6679 prevents Hamas terrorists from exploiting President Biden's open border policies by ensuring that members of Hamas or Islamic Jihadists will be ineligible for immigration relief and deported from the United States.

I then voted for H.R. 6678 which ensures that illegal immigrants who have committed social security fraud or other identification fraud are inadmissible to the U.S. and streamlines the process for their deportation.

After these votes, I spoke on the floor in support of The Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act. This legislation is fully paid for, eases families' tax burdens, and empowers job creators to invest in their businesses and employees. You can click the photo below to learn how this legislation will help Texas-24 or visit the Work of the Week section to read more.

Thursday, I voted in favor of H.R. 6979 to ensure illegal immigrants who drive impaired or intoxicated can be deported for recklessly endangering Americans. This bill serves as yet another step towards securing our border and protecting families from suffering the loss of DUI-related crashes.

Today, I joined more than 20 of my colleagues from Texas to express our complete support for Governor Abbott's effort to protect our border, drive down illegal migration, and keep Texans safe. You can read our letter to Governor Abbott by clicking here.

Texas-24 Work of the Week

This week, I supported North Texas families and job creators by voting for The Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act. This pro-growth legislation will fight inflation, cut regulations, and deliver tax relief to working families.

Texas-24 Hometown Hero

This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Mark “Hawkeye” Louis, a DFW-radio host who recently donated the proceeds of his baseball card collection to Cook Children’s Hospital. Thank you Hawkeye for supporting this incredible cause and the children of our community!

Elementary DC Fly-In

I’m excited to announce our newest student program, the Elementary Fly-In in Washington, D.C.! To encourage civic engagement and instill a love for democracy in TX-24 elementary students, I’m organizing a nighttime tour of the Capitol Building, a group visit to historic landmarks and an educational breakfast in the beautiful Library of Congress from April 11-12, 2024. I hope you and your children will join me on this memorable excursion to our nation's capital!
