Hi Friend,
Did you know that a few weeks ago, Congressman Hank Johnson reintroduced a bill which would authorize $20 billion annually for four years ($80B total) to transit systems for their operating budgets?
This could have big implications for local transit agencies like WMATA, but only if it passes.
Join GGWash, the DC Transportation Equity Network, the DC Sierra Club, Citizens Climate Lobby, and Transportation for America for an in-person transit equity teach-in on Tuesday February 6th from 5:30 - 7:00.
If you want to learn more about what the Stronger Communities Through Better Transit Act could mean for the Washington region and what we can do to help get it passed -- or if you want to learn more about how to advance transit equity in DC -- this event is for you.
Space is limited, so make sure to RSVP if you are interested.
