Endorsements approved; walk in Garden Grove; Chartering extended

Hello California Young Democrats,

I write to share lots of important news: CYD finalized the results ([link removed]) of the recent internet vote, and while the proposed dual endorsement in the U.S. Senate race failed (CYD Bylaws ([link removed]) require a 2/3rds vote to approve all endorsements), CYD did vote to ratify dozens of additional endorsements for great Democrats ([link removed]) running for State Assembly, local offices, DNC and local County Democratic Central Committees!

Speaking of great, CYD-endorsed candidates, tomorrow, Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11 AM, I will be joining Young Democrats from across California here in Orange County at Westhaven Park (12252 West Street, Garden Grove, CA 92840) to support our endorsed candidate Kim Nguyen-Penaloza for Congress! CYD is extending the chartering period for all chapters to give our chapters and regions more time to complete all required information: all chartering documents and dues must now be submitted before Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 11:59 PM. Please work with your CYD Regional Director ([link removed]) to submit all required information before the deadline. Everything you need to know to charter or recharter a chapter or caucus with CYD is available at: [link removed]. If a chapter does not submit all required information before the deadline, they will be at risk of being unable to vote on future CYD endorsements and CYD leadership.

SAVE THE DATE: I am excited to announce that CYD’s biennial retreat will be returning to beautiful Lake Tahoe, this coming April 5 - 7, 2024, as the CYD Post-Primary Organizing Retreat! We are excited to welcome CYD members and allies back to Lake Tahoe for a weekend of great speeches, trainings and fun looking at the results of the 2024 March 5 Primary election and planning for the 2024 General election to defeat MAGA extremists at the ballot box. Next week we plan to share details on how you can register and book your rooms!
