As a dad and California’s Attorney General, Rob knows how important it is
to protect our children’s privacy and safety online, especially as studies
continue to show the negative impacts of social media on youth mental and
physical health.
That’s why he just introduced two new bills in the state legislature to
better protect our children from the dangers of social media addiction.
[1]ABC7 headline that reads: California bills aim to provide safeguards
for children who use social media
The “Protecting Youth from Social Media Addiction” bill and “The
California Children’s Data Privacy Act” would give parents more control
over what content their kids can access on social media, as well as
restricting social media notifications during the hours of 12:00 am to
6:00 am.
After suing Meta for knowingly designing and deploying harmful features on
Facebook and Instagram that caused mental and physical detriment to
children and teens, Rob knows we can’t rely on Big Tech companies to do
what’s right out of the kindness of their heart — especially if it may
affect their profits.

ourselves. Will you add your name in support of Rob’s legislation to
prevent social media from hurting California’s children today?
