John — Today is Groundhog Day… and if you’re like me, you associate this day just as much with the fantastic Bill Murray film as you do with the folklore of the groundhog’s shadow.

In the movie, Bill Murray’s character is stuck in a cycle, living the same day over and over again.

Truth be told, I feel that way sometimes — when it comes to the GOP’s bottomless support for Donald Trump and their endless, false, and inflammatory attacks on me.

Here’s how it usually plays out: They try to pull a partisan stunt. I call them out. They attack. Rinse and repeat.

Trump will go on stage at a campaign rally and call me “pencil neck.” Sean Hannity or another Fox News talking head will go after me on cable news.

And my inbox, voicemail, and social media feeds become full of vile attacks from the MAGA movement.

I’ll admit it — this cycle gets exhausting.

But we rise above the attacks because we are committed to defending our democracy no matter what they throw at us.
