John -- this latest attack on me is truly outrageous. We are in the middle of a pandemic, and National Republicans are trying to score “political campaign points.” It’s horrifying.
Last week, just 10 MINUTES before I hosted a tele-townhall -- where I virtually gathered my constituents so they could ask questions about coronavirus to medical experts -- the Republican party began circulating an article with false accusations that I was calling people from my “Tennessee phone number” to invite them. John, why are they attacking my efforts to communicate with constituents during a pandemic? (Apparently, they neglected to do any basic research on town hall invitation systems).
We are truly living in sad times when my political opponents are so desperate to disparage me that they will attempt to sabotage this type of event.
I need your help to set the record straight. Will you pitch in a grassroots donation of $10 or $20 so we can raise $1,500 before midnight tonight to fill up our rapid response fund and counter these lies Republicans are spreading about me?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
This isn’t the first time Republicans have harassed me and my family. Remember when they sent an unsolicited package to my elderly mother-in-law’s house in Tennessee?
They’ve gone looking for any little way they can twist the truth to try and win back this toss-up seat in 2020, and they won’t stop calling me “Lyin’ Lucy” -- even as they publish dishonest hitjobs on me in the same breath. It would be unbelievable under normal circumstances, but in these times, it’s down right cringeworthy.
John, we need to make sure we have the resources to fight back against this latest round of attacks by National Republicans, so I’m setting a goal of raising another $1,500 before midnight tonight. Can you pitch in to help us set the record straight?
Whenever I think National Republicans could not sink any lower into the mud, they always find a new way to surprise me. So I’m glad to have you on my side, John.
Thanks as always for your support.
With love,
-- Lucy
