John,

I've spent my entire life in the service of others (see below) and I think we need more people in Congress with this kind of background if we really want to change the very nature of that institution.  We have too many elected officials who are selfish rather than selfless, who are attracted to power rather than good deeds and who use vitriol rather than civility. 

I'm running for Congress for a lot of reasons, but we won't be able to see the changes we imagine if we don't elect people who have the right kind of motivations, the right kind of humility, the right kind of integrity and the right kind of decency.

I'm asking for your support so we can not only change the culture and narrative but also the actual results in Congress.

I've been blessed to have had the opportunity to provide comfort, compassion and safety to people in many parts of the world.  My passion and my life's work have included:

• Helping veterans receive health benefits after being afflicted with Persian Gulf Syndrome (Investigator, US Congress)
• Enhancing the lives of children with critical illnesses (Chief Operating Officer, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America)
• Helping organize efforts to end genocides, mass atrocities and human trafficking (Chief Operating Officer, Humanity United)
• Responding to terrorist attacks, major disasters, mass shootings and humanitarian needs along the border (Senior Executive, National Headquarters and Chief Executive Officer, Arizona and New Mexico Region — American Red Cross)
• Building community development projects and cultural exchanges in Cuba and the Dominican Republic (VP, Operations, Fathom, Ltd.)
• Working at the local level to empower citizens to better their community (two-time City Councilman)
