Friends,
I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –
Articles of Impeachment for Mayorkas
On Tuesday, the House Committee on Homeland Security voted on articles of impeach for DHS Secretary Mayorkas.
The charges are for “willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law” and “breach of public trust.”
Mayorkas and Biden’s policies have made every state a border state as the invasion rampages at the southern border.
It’s past time to impeach Mayorkas.
For almost a year, the House has investigated the unprecedented invasion at our southern border that is caused by the failed policies of Joe Biden and Secretary Mayorkas.
Mayorkas has chosen to not enforce federal law, allowed terrorist associated with al-Shabaab to walk the streets of America freely, and worse yet allowed over 8.3 million illegal border crossings since Joe Biden took office.
Mayorkas has broken the trust of Americans and violated his oath of office.
Americans expect that Secretary Mayorkas, the head of the Department of Homeland Security, would work to uphold the law and secure our border.
Mayorkas lied to Congress when he claimed the border was secure. Every American knows that the border is anything but secure as fentanyl and illegals flood our country.
Congress must hold Mayorkas accountable.
Standing with Israel
On Thursday, Joe Biden signed an irrational executive order that takes aim at Israelis who are defending themselves from a radical terrorist organization by instituting economic sanctions on them.
Joe Biden’s fallacious executive order against our ally Israel is another foreign policy failure by the Biden administration.
The Commander-in-Chief should unequivocally stand with our ally Israel as they exercise their right to self-defense and fight back against Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists who believe Israel does not have the right to exist—the same cowardly terrorists that kill Americans, behead babies, and kidnap children.
This is another example in the long line of Biden’s foreign policy failures.
Mr. President, why do you continually choose to endanger the lives of Americans, turn your back on America’s allies, and choose to go easy on or cooperate with terrorist regimes?
In 2021, Joe Biden acted contrary to sound military advice in his withdrawal from Afghanistan. The President recklessly left behind thousands of American civilians and Afghan allies, along with taxpayer-financed weapons and military equipment, endangering the lives of the American people and the security of the United States.
Biden showed reckless disregard for both American citizens and allies in neglecting to secure their safe evacuation from Afghanistan once he withdrew our troops.
In September of 2023, the Biden Administration negotiated a prisoner swap with Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism, and put a target on the back of every American. Biden traded 6 Americans for 6 Iranians and gave Iran 6 billion dollars. America should NEVER pay ransoms as it sends a message to nefarious countries that they can target American citizens and get a payday from the government.
It’s time we get tough on sponsors of terrorism, not negotiate with them.
Joe Biden jeopardizes American energy security and national security by placing the political demands of environmental activists over the responsibility he bears to ensure affordable, reliable, and clean energy for America.
Instead of unleashing American energy production and exports with American LNG that is 40% cleaner than Russian LNG, Joe Biden forces America and our allies to be energy-dependent on adversaries like Russia and China.
Protecting the Mailing of Firearms
Yesterday, I introduced the Protecting the Mailing of Firearms Act to ensure gun owners and the firearms industry have access to delivery services through the United States Postal Service (USPS), which enables us to exercise our right to keep and bear arms.
Common carriers and commercial airlines safely transport handguns and ammunition every day, and USPS already permits the mailing of shotguns and rifles.
It’s past time that we repeal the arbitrary prohibition on the mailing of handguns and ammunition through the USPS.
The Protecting the Mailing of Firearms Act ensures law-abiding gun owners as well as the firearm industry have access to delivery services and will prevent an anti-gun administration from weaponizing USPS against our Second Amendment right.

Fighting Against the Welfare State
I voted against HR7024 on Wednesday because I didn’t run for Congress to support a continued expansion of the welfare state.
While the bill has good components that will help businesses both large and small, there really isn’t any help for the true middle class.
Additionally, it helps the Biden administration dangle another carrot in front of migrants illegally entering our country due to the Biden Border Crisis.
Protect Our Troops
Militant groups backed by Iran have attacked our military 150+ times since October 7. On Saturday, they attacked again killing 3 servicemembers and injuring 34 troops.
Remember, Joe Biden tried to give Iran $6 billion as part of a prisoner swap.
Hey Joe, stop negotiating with terrorists and start protecting our military.
We need a President who strikes fear in our enemies and prioritizes the safety of our military and citizens.
Oversight of the Biden Administration
On Monday, I demanded answers from the Biden administration about their senseless about-face on bipartisan digital trade policies which are another example of Joe Biden putting American interests last and allowing China to thrive.
Digital Trade transformed how Americans do business with the world by increasing choices for consumers, opportunities for American companies, and exponential growth for the US economy. This growth ensures America remains the global leader in creating digital products on online platforms and exporting digital services.
Unfortunately, Ambassador Tai and the Biden Administration’s October decision to cast aside longstanding and bipartisan digital trade principles serves to increase economic and national security risks—while encouraging authoritarian states to take the lead in writing the digital trade playbook.
Despite disapproval from the National Security Council and without so much as a notice to the State Department, US Trade Representative Tai placed American jobs in jeopardy and bolstered authoritarian regimes.
Legislative Action
I cosponsored H.J.Res.107 Rep. Clyde’s resolution to fight against the new rule that allows the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to have the power to control, regulate, and restrict all things related to telecommunications.
I cosponsored H.R. 7047 Rep. Scott’s bill that would prohibit the use of American tax dollars to finance the World Economic Forum.
In the District
Congratulations to the Clemson University Men's Baseball team for earning No. 9 on the D1Baseball ranking. There's a lot of hope and high expectations for the team this year. Before long, we'll be hearing them say "play ball" again. Go Tigers!
Pickens County is working to increase the coverage of their first responders' radios. Currently, 4 out of the 9 total towers have been completed. Once all 9 towers have been installed, the county aims to deliver 90% coverage for the counties emergency services.
Congratulations to Anderson's Pamela Christopher on her election as the SC Department of Transportation Commission Chairwoman. The Commission focuses on policy changes for the department. In addition to being the first woman to Chair the Commission, Christopher will represent the entire Third Congressional District on the SCDOT Commission.
It is an honor to serve the Third District of South Carolina. Should you or your family need assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact my office directly.
Blessings and Liberty,
Jeff Duncan Member of Congress |
