Great news for Texas families! This week, we passed a bipartisan bill to expand the Child Tax Credit! The Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act will help 1.9 million kids in Texas, and specifically deliver relief to 43,000 kids right here in the 32nd District. The bill expands the Child Tax Credit so more families can receive more money. It also provides tax incentives to spur business investment and affordable housing development.

I was raised by a single mom. I know how hard it can be for working families. The Child Tax Credit puts money directly back into families’ pockets. According to the Joint Economic Committee, the expanded Child Tax Credit could deliver more relief for 16 million children across the United States. It could lift 400,000 children out of poverty in the first year alone.

The Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act passed by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 357-70. It proves that we can still do big things if we work together. I urge the Senate to pass this bill and send it to the President's desk.
