John,
As you may have seen, earlier this week the leaders of the largest Big Tech companies once again came to Washington, D.C. — this time to answer to Congress for their failures to protect children online.
Let’s be real, they’ve come to D.C. before, made promises, and haven’t kept them. So, coming out of the hearing many may wonder, “What can we trust? What can't we trust? And what can Congress do?”
That’s why Issue One’s Council for Responsible Social Media (CRSM) is hosting a conversation with Facebook whistleblowers Frances Haugen and Arturo Béjar to unpack the hearing and answer these questions.
Join us on Tuesday, February 6, at 2pm ET to hear from these tech experts and leaders who both made the brave decision to blow the whistle on Big Tech after learning how much harm they were hiding from the American people. There are no two better voices to help unpack this hearing and to highlight what can be done to hold these companies accountable. The discussion will be moderated by Linda Douglass, CRSM member and former communications director in the White House’s Office of Health Reform.
We hope you’ll join us,
Alix Fraser Council for Responsible Social Media Director
P.S. Please note that we will be recording this virtual event so folks who cannot watch live can still be part of the conversation. Make sure to RSVP to receive the link to the recording.
