Jack, Republicans in Congress are taking marching orders from Donald Trump. Even if that means sabotaging policy talks with a baseless impeachment push.

President Biden and Democrats are willing to negotiate a border deal, but Republicans were told it will help Trump's presidential campaign if nothing actually gets accomplished.

So instead, they are wasting time trying to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. A House committee on January 30 recommended impeachment on a party-line vote. We can now expect the full House will vote on this charade sometime in the coming week.

On what grounds do they want to impeach Mayorkas? They have none. They are just trying to make the Biden Administration look bad during an election year.

The sham impeachment of Mayorkas is nothing but a distraction. It's a ploy by Republicans to distract the public from the fact that they are sabotaging any bipartisan progress. They are just campaigning for Donald Trump.

But we will not let this impeachment sham distract us from the very serious issues at hand.
