Dear John,

Pauline Hanson is not usually given to understatement, but she delivered in spades on Chris Kenny’s Sky News show this week when she said the year ahead was going to be ‘robust’.

Our party’s leader and founder is right: it will be a robust year (and a lot more besides). Anthony Albanese has lied to us many times, has sought to divide us on race, started a good old fashioned Labor class war, and driven a wedge between every segment of our society. We have a lot to do this year to unpack this nonsense and expose this toxic dishonest mob.  

Senator Hanson also highlighted the extreme strain the country is under from record immigration, with Labor losing control of the borders and letting in a huge number of foreign arrivals. Australia’s population has blown out to 27 million, many years ahead of even the most optimistic growth projections.

What isn’t nearly as ‘robust’ is Australia’s economy, particularly because successive Labor and Coalition governments have squandered our natural competitive advantages. The economy is struggling to accommodate competing demands on containing increased population-driven inflation, finding jobs for new arrivals, and paying welfare to all these immigrants.

Something will give, and our sincere hope is it won’t be Aussie jobs, wages and conditions.

High immigration to the side, the goose that lays the golden eggs paying for all this Labor largess, is under sustained attack from the Labor-Greens coalition. One Nation has a huge fight on our hands defending Aussie jobs and investments in the mining sector.

Our ‘year ahead’ battles don’t stop there. One Nation will continue fighting for the correction of the wrongs created by the COVID debacle. This week the Senate inquiry, into establishing terms of reference for a COVID Royal Commission, was held and Senator Malcolm Roberts displayed his usual skills in interrogating witnesses so as to expose the truth. Witnesses to the inquiry were almost universal in supporting a full Royal Commission and panning the Prime Minister’s own toothless inquiry.

One Nation continues to lead the way in providing practical solutions to the problems facing Australia. From our transparent and honest approach to policy creation, holding national leaders to account when they lie, or fighting for the rights of working families to have decent jobs and pay, One Nation will always put Australia and Australians first.
