In many ways, February is not just a time to think about what lies ahead in our continued fight for progress, but also to pause and reflect on the significant contributions and sacrifices of our great African American ancestors and elders who dedicated and often sacrificed their lives to the fight for equity, civil rights, and social and economic justice.

I hope that in the days ahead, you join me in continuing the important work of uplifting the Black community, and dedicating ourselves as a nation to overcoming the systemic and institutional challenges that continue to affect African Americans – but for now, I hope you enjoy my photo album.
