As Energy Democracy activists and advocates, we know that energy is more than a commodity–we see it as central to having safe air to breathe, safe water to drink, and livable housing. We know that low-income, Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities have been hit hardest by the control and extraction of centralized power at the hands of a few. And we affirm that from Puerto Rico to Gaza, our organizing around energy and power are linked to the liberation of real, everyday people all across the globe.
Earlier this week, we welcomed leadership from Turtle Island (United States) and Boriken (Puerto Rico) to talk about the real lines of solidarity that extend from Palestine to our backyards here in the U.S. Find all of the links shared during our conversation as well as speaker bios here.
