John, Some D.C. insiders are clearly worried about the competition No Labels could inject into the 2024 presidential race.

John,

Recently, the team at No Labels learned about the existence of a letter that former senators and members of Congress are being asked to sign, calling on No Labels to “abandon” our ballot access efforts. You can read the full letter here ([link removed] ) .

Sadly, it’s just the latest tactic in a coordinated effort by party insiders to limit voters’ choices and keep No Labels off voting ballots this fall.

The people who created this letter don’t want to see a Unity presidential ticket running on the No Labels’ line. It’s clear they don’t care that 64 percent of Americans now say they want another presidential choice beyond those likely to be offered by our major parties; nor are they listening to the more than one million American voters who have already signed petitions to get No Labels on the ballot in their states.

Instead, they continue to peddle the same partisan and elitist nonsense that No Labels should stand down to preserve what they describe as the “health and stability of our republic.”

But America’s commonsense majority knows better. This high-minded rhetoric is cover for a power play to shut down your voices and limit the choices of American voters. And it’s part of a much broader and pernicious conspiracy that No Labels reported to the U.S. Department of Justice a few weeks ago in a complaint you can read here. ([link removed] )

In No Labels’ letter to the DOJ, we described an allegedly illegal effort involving powerful individuals inside and outside government to deny Americans their constitutional right to choose the leaders who represent them. And we said that no matter one’s party of political affiliation, there should be no dispute that Americans have a right to choose – free from fear, intimidation or harassment – which candidates appear on their voting ballots.

No one should ever interfere with this right.

But now the partisan conspirators are trying to enlist former members of Congress and senators to do exactly that. As Co-Executive Director of No Labels and someone with a long history of working with members of Congress from both sides of the aisle, I’m appalled at the thought any elected official in Washington, D.C., would sign this letter that endorses limiting voters’ choices and subverting the constitutional right to ballot access.

Some D.C. insiders are clearly worried about the competition No Labels could inject into the 2024 presidential race or that voters might be able to decide for themselves which candidates they want on the ballot.

Unfortunately, their solution to this challenge isn’t to identify better candidates or ideas but to try to keep a potential No Labels Unity presidential ticket off the field altogether.

It’s wrong, and no American should stand for it.

Sincerely,

Margaret White
