Want to see the future of reproductive rights in this country? It's unfolding right now -- in two very different ways.

In Idaho, an abortion ban has blocked thousands of patients from care. The limits on care and threats of prosecution have driven OB/GYNs out of the state -- at least one hospital has been forced to shut down its maternity ward. And just a couple weeks ago, the Supreme Court allowed Idaho to impose its abortion ban even when a pregnant person is in the emergency room with life-threatening complications and doctors know that an abortion is the best way to protect their health.

Patients blocked from care. Doctors driven from their practices. Increased risks for pregnant people. And the same Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade giving a green light to even the most dangerous bans on care. That's the reality right now in Idaho and other states. It could be the future we all are headed for as a nation.

But it doesn't have to be. Activists, organizers, and a widespread movement in Florida show there is another way forward. Floridians Protecting Freedom is a coalition working to pass a ballot initiative that will restore and protect abortion access in Florida -- and they've submitted more than 891,523 voter signatures to get on the ballot this November.
