Every year is an election year in the United States. Voters participate in local, state, and national elections, selecting representatives who will carry out the will of the people. Do your students know how candidates are chosen to appear on the ballot?

Use our newest lesson to help them explore the Constitution for the answer. 

Extension Activity: Have your students participate in our Think the Vote debate! This week's question is "Should States Stop Having Closed Primaries?". Students choose a side on this question and share an informed response. The best response on each side is awarded a $25 prize and is entered into our year-end $1000 grand-prize drawing. Encourage your students to join the debate!
