ADL and The Jewish Agency for Israel Partner to Counter Antisemitism

The Jewish Agency for Israel and ADL have announced a new partnership to combat antisemitism, strengthen Jewish identity and connect Jews to Israel and one another.

[link removed]

ADL will support the Jewish Agency’s shlichim (emissaries), with programs and training sessions about antisemitism to support their work with Jewish communities throughout the United States, from college campuses to community centers, and from summer camps to synagogues. Hundreds of shlichim are currently serving throughout North America.

As ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt noted, “in this unprecedented time, we’re grateful to be partnering with the Jewish Agency, the largest Jewish organization in the world, to equip their incredible emissaries from Israel with all the tools they need to combat antisemitism as they are working with U.S. Jewish communities.”

This panel will provide an overview of best practices for combatting antisemitism in the workplace and will help equip employees with the tools and resources they need to understand their rights and available legal remedies.
→ Speakers include Dani Nurick, JLens Director of Advocacy; Wendy Doernberg, Senior Attorney-Advisor, Federal Sector Programs, Office of Federal Operations, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Debbie L. Berman, Partner at Jenner & Block LLP.

(*This is a Continuing Legal Education-eligible session; when you register, please note your interest in CLE so we can share any necessary details.)

‘Antisemitism Uncovered: A Guide to Old Myths in a New Era’ has rolled out a new 8-part video series in Spanish. Antisemitism Uncovered is a comprehensive resource with historical context, fact-based descriptions of prevalent antisemitic myths, contemporary examples and calls-to-action for addressing this hate. Each video explores one of the antisemitic tropes: power, disloyalty, greed, deicide, blood libel, Holocaust denial and anti-Zionism.

Blood Libel Claims Resurface: In recent years, there have been a number of antisemitic accusations of Israel harvesting organs of Palestinians, including since Oct. 7. The ADL Center on Extremism reports on these claims, which are a modern iteration of the age-old antisemitic blood libel, which alleges that Jews used the blood of Christian children to make Matzah for Passover. Notably, the wide range of voices making such allegations — from the Hamas-controlled Gaza Ministry of Health, and Muslim clerics, to U.S. far-left activists and European self-described human rights groups — illustrates the persistency of this age-old antisemitic canard across the religious, geographic
and political spectrums.

Who Supports the Houthis?: In the aftermath of Oct. 7 and the start of the Israel-Hamas war, some anti-Israel activists have boldly expressed support for terrorism against the State of Israel and Jews, including voicing admiration for the Houthis, an Iranian-regime backed U.S.-designated terrorist group in Yemen that have been targeting cargo ships in the Red Sea and shooting missiles towards Southern Israel in connection to the current Israel-Hamas war. The Houthis have a history of antisemitic, anti-Israel and anti-American ideology. Most notably, in 2003 they adopted the slogan, “God is great, death to the U.S., death to Israel, curse the Jews, and victory for Islam.”

Take Action Today

Make your voice heard! Call for Congress to support the Protecting Students on Campus Act. A recent ADL survey revealed that less than half of Jewish students felt physically safe on their campuses, down sharply since Oct. 7. The Protecting Students on Campus Act, introduced by Senators Bill Cassidy (R-LA), John Fetterman (D-PA) and Bob Casey (D-PA) is bipartisan legislation to address harassment and discrimination on college campuses. ADL is playing a lead role in championing this Act.

@ADL

It’s alarming that @FBI data shows schools & college campuses have been the 3rd most common location for reported hate crimes in recent years — consistent with the National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism and our finding that students often face antisemitic harassment & intimidation in school settings. We encourage any college or university student to text CALLhelp to 51555 or visit

We commend @Princeton and President Eisgruber for quickly addressing the problems in its No Contact Order Policy after receiving our letter. These changes will help ensure that NCOs can no longer be used to censure their Jewish student journalists — or any student journalists.

Thank you, @AmericanJewishU & Pres. @jeffreyherbst, for our important discussion last week, which included an exploration of the differences and similarities between #antisemitism on the extreme right and radical left, and why we must take both seriously.

We’re glad that @citizentimes apologized and removed the antisemitic ad. However, to echo ADL’s @mermirmanweisel, local media outlets must proactively have standards in place to review paid advertising before hate speech is published in their newspapers.

@ChiPubSchools & @PedroCPSCEO: This antisemitic image was posted today in a Lane Tech snapchat feed. Students there plan to participate tomorrow in a walkout to support a ceasefire in Gaza and Israel. It’s a district-permitted opportunity to fan the flames of antisemitism.

@ADL_Connecticut is profoundly disturbed by the antisemitic postcards sent to Norwalk, CT Common Council members. As ADL CT Regional Director @stacey_sobel reported, “This is a trend that ADL is seeing nationwide.” Thank you @NorwalkCtPD for investigating.

We’re relieved to see authorities have apprehended the alleged suspect. This is yet another example of the alarming rise of bomb threats targeting synagogues across the US, and other threats against Jewish houses of worship we’ve seen in recent years. The bomb threat that targeted Attleboro’s Agudas Achim was the latest in a rash of threats targeting our houses of worship. We can counter these messages that sow fear by calling out this pernicious form of hate and intimidation. We thank law enforcement for swift action.
