Hi John,

You won’t believe what CBC President Catherine Tait said on Parliament Hill.

At committee, Tait defended the millions in taxpayer-funded bonuses she’s doling out to CBC executives and staffers.

The CBC handed out $16 million in bonuses in 2022, and $99 million in bonuses since 2015, according to documents dug up by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.

Tait is paid between $472,900 and $623,900, which includes her salary, bonus and other benefits.

While at the committee, Tait gave every indication she will continue to use your money to give bonuses to herself and other CBC executives.

Member of Parliament Rachael Thomas asked Tait if she thought she had met her performance targets that would trigger a bonus.

Tait replied: “Absolutely, yes.”

I swear Tait was so close to saying “I’m entitled to my entitlements.”

Tait was in front of the parliamentary committee for two hours defending CBC’s executive bonuses. But don’t worry, you don’t need to watch the full two hours to hear what Tait was saying.

I break down Tait’s entire committee appearence for you in this five-minute video.
