John -

For our children, working parents and our economy, we must speak out to stop thousands of child care programs around the country from closing their doors as a result of the coronavirus. Unlike public schools – which will open up again when the crisis is over – child care programs may be forced to go out of business as they are unable to pay rent or their employees during this crisis period.

Congress is working on a stimulus package to help minimize the impact of the pandemic on the American economy and they need to hear from child care champions like you.

Tell your member of Congress that millions of families rely on child care and it must be protected!

As Congress puts together the latest coronavirus relief package, we need to make sure that the child care industry is included! Send a message to your members of Congress today.

Hi John -

As Congress works to provide economic relief to American businesses, one key industry is being left behind – child care providers. Countless child care centers – already operating on tight budgets – face the real threat of not being able to pay their staff, rent and other expenses.

They are faced with the possibility of having to close their doors permanently.

If that happens, parents will have a hard time staying in the workforce and children will miss out on high-quality early learning opportunities.

Tell your members of Congress to ensure any coronavirus relief package guarantees the child care industry is protected!

Once this pandemic ends, these closures will have a heightened impact on children and families throughout the country. Before it hit, 51% of American families already lived in a child care desert. Now, with so many child care centers facing financial ruin due to COVID-19, there may be even fewer child care slots in the future.

This will have far-reaching, negative impact on not only our littlest learners, but also on our workforce, our economy, and our ability to recover from this crisis.

Ask your members of Congress to provide robust and flexible funding for child care centers as part of the coronavirus relief package.

Stay safe,

Roy Chrobocinski
