Schools offer an opportunity to support students with epilepsy by addressing their self-management, physical, and social needs and providing training to help them progress through school and beyond. NASN's NCPD program, Rare Seizure Disorders: Practice Considerations for School Nurses, provides information on the school nurse role in caring for students with rare seizures/epilepsy. By participating, you will learn about common characteristics of students with rare seizure disorders, how to treat students with these disorders, and strategies to provide care coordination for students with epilepsy using the NASN Framework for 21st Century School Nursing Practice™. | |
