Friend,

As your Congressman, one of my top priorities is investing in our great city. I want to share with you a local funding award I recently presented to the Center City District to prepare Philadelphia for the upcoming 250th Semiquincentennial celebration in 2026. (video below)

This Community Project Funding (CPF) will add much needed sidewalk lighting along South 6th Street between Chestnut and Walnut Streets, just adjacent to Independence Hall. This Center City District led project will serve to enhance pedestrian safety and mobility within the historic district as our nation’s 250th anniversary approaches and we prepare for celebrations in the cradle of liberty.

Community Project Funding (CPF) is a federal initiative that allows Members of Congress to request direct funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent. CPF is separate from federal grants and funding apportioned by formula.

I’m excited about the positive impact these CPF efforts are bringing to our city and I look forward to continuing to do even more to help move Philadelphia forward!

Sincerely
