New York Times: Democrats voted against moving forward on a plan expected
to cost $1.8 trillion or more, seeking stronger protections for workers
and stricter rules for bailed-out businesses.

no-strings-attached corporate bailouts. Give direct support to the
American people!

This afternoon, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans put forward a
nearly $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus bill that would have given massive
no-strings-attached bailouts to big corporations while failing to allocate
serious resources to hospitals, healthcare workers, or the urgent needs of
millions of Americans. Senate Democrats rejected it.

Elizabeth Warren has made clear that "We're not here to create a slush
fund for Donald Trump and his family, or a slush fund for the Treasury
Department to be able to hand out to their friends. We're here to help
workers. We're here to help hospitals. And right now, what the Republicans
proposed does neither of those."

Negotiations are going on NOW and Congress needs to know that they MUST
prioritize direct, grassroots relief for the American people -- not
corporate welfare and no-strings-attached corporate bailouts.!

[ [link removed] ]ADD YOUR NAME: Congress, no corporate welfare or no-strings-attached
corporate bailouts. Give direct support to the American people -- in a way
that helps people in the short term and improves our economy for the long
haul.

Instead of bailing out big corporations and banks, workers need paid leave
and suspension of rent and mortgage payments so they can care for
themselves and their families without putting others at risk.

Young people and adults need student debt cancellation to free them from
this burden so they can meet their basic needs -- which will also pump
more money into the economy.

Seniors need expansion of Social Security benefits so they don't have to
choose between paying for food and medicine.

With all eyes on Congress, it's more important than ever to build the
pressure and send a clear message: there's a right way of crafting a
stimulus and a wrong way. If lots of people sign on, the media will report
on this -- and Congress will pay attention.
