This solicitation includes tires, refurbished rims, retreads, tubes and related maintenance and repairs.??

DES replacing trailers contract

DES is starting solicitation 00424 for trailers of various sizes to succeed statewide contract 00816, which expires Dec. 31.

This solicitation includes the following gross vehicle weight ratings (GVWR):

• Class 1: 11,999 GVWR or less
• Class 2: 12,000-59,999 GVWR
• Class 3: 60,000 GVWR or more

DES has new statewide contract 07621 for ADA-compliant vans, minivans and specialty vehicles.

This contract succeeds contract 01617, which expired on June 30, 2022.?It has vendors in three categories, each with eight subcategories of walk-in step vans:

• Schetky Northwest Sales, Inc.
• Model 1 Commercial Vehicles, Inc.?
• Northwest Bus Sales, Inc., a?certified Washington small business.

DES added Johnson Controls Fire Protections LP (JCI) to contract 24223 for security and fire protection services, effective Jan. 1. JCI is available for categories 1-10 and 12-16.?

Expiring contract may lead to purchasing gap??

Contract 02817 for waterborne traffic marking paint expires Feb. 29. There will be a gap in contract coverage. We encourage purchasers to place orders before the expiration date.??

We expect to award replacement contract 23423 in April 2024.

There will be a gap in contract coverage for these contractors: Apple, Microsoft, IBM, NetApp and Lenovo US.

We plan to include those contractors on replacement contract 05820 when negotiations are complete.??

Help us develop lawn, ground equipment statewide contract??

DES is developing replacement contract 28123 for lawn and ground equipment.?The solicitation will be for agricultural lawn and grounds equipment, repair parts, and accessories.

We are looking for purchasers and subject-matter experts to share their experience and feedback with us.?If you are interested in shaping the upcoming contract or have feedback on it, please contact?Polina Boyle.

DES seeks feedback on cooperative contract

DES seeks feedback about awarding contractors on contract 20622 for professional grade tools and diagnostic equipment. This is a cooperative contract from NASPO ValuePoint.

NASPO has awarded and executed three contracts with:

1. Hilti, Inc.
2. Lawson Products, Inc.
3. Northern Safety Co.

These contractors can be considered for participating addenda on Washington?s contract. Please review the awarded contractors and send us your recommendations about which contractors we should award in Washington by Feb 9.

DES? Breann Aggers wins NIGP award

Breann Aggers, Procurement Strategist with DES? Contracts & Procurement Division, won the 2023 Procurement Professional of the Year from the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), Washington chapter. Breann received her award during the WA NIGP Annual Meeting on Jan. 18.

Breann?s team nominated her for the award based on her work to get timely and effective results for the DES? most complicated solicitations and procurements. Breann is also sought after by C&P supervisors to mentor and help train new employees.

Elena McGrew, DES? Enterprise Procurement Manager, said, ?We can?t thank Breann enough for her commitment to our team, to our mission, and all the positive energy she brings to all that she does every day.?

The WA NIGP Chapter comprises 360 public procurement professionals from Washington state public agencies and political subdivisions.
