Support Nebraska wildlife conservation this tax season

Nebraskans, are you getting a tax refund this year? If so, you have the opportunity to do something good for wildlife.
When you fill out your taxes, you may donate $1 or more of your tax refund to the Wildlife Conservation Fund, which is used to help several hundred species in Nebraska that are rare, endangered or threatened.

A look at Game and Parks' depredation work in 2023
Depredation response and prevention remain a top priority for Nebraska Game and Parks. In 2023, approximately 300 landowners were helped with damage issues related to deer, elk, pronghorn, turkeys and other species.
Biologists utilized a variety of depredation response options to successfully mitigate and alleviate damage, logging more than 10,500 hours of depredation work.

Each February, for four days, the world comes together for the love of birds. We invite you to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count, Feb. 16-19, when you can spend time in your favorite places watching and counting birds, and then report what you see to help scientists.
