Dear John,

How’s your 2024 going?

Because I guarantee you that Shell thinks they’re having a better one. They’ve just announced eye-watering annual profits of over £22.4 BILLION! [1]

Shell is making obscene profits off climate destruction and it’s about time the government stopped them. So please join nearly 200,000 other people calling on the government to make Big Oil stop drilling and start paying for their damage?

Shell’s profits are staggering. To put it in context, if you earned £30,000 a day from when Jesus was born to the present day, you still would not make as much as Shell did last year.

But while Shell rakes it in, the climate crisis which THEY are fuelling is causing death and destruction at unprecedented rates. [3] How on earth is it fair that Shell made billions while the world saw record breaking climate disasters last year?

We need our government to pull their finger out to force fossil fuel giants like Shell to stop drilling for new fossil fuels and start paying for their climate damage. We know an election is round the corner, so we really need to build pressure on our politicians to reconsider their relationship with Big Oil.

Please can you sign our people-powered petition to build the public case for properly taxing Big Oil? The more of us who sign the more pressure we can put on politicians before the upcoming election.

It’s gobsmacking that while Shell rakes in billions, splashes out on private jets, glossy greenwash adverts and vindictive lawsuits against anyone who stands in their way, ordinary people around the world are suffering from sky high energy bills and record breaking climate disasters. [3]

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Big Oil can and will be stopped. If we come together to raise our voices as one, we can convince our politicians to take action - so please do take a minute to add your name to our huge petition.

Thanks for all that you do,

P.S: We’ve just made a new video exposing Shell’s profits day party. If enough of us watch and share it - it will travel far online and give Shell a real PR headache. So please do give it a watch!
