Dear John,
Can you join me in Vegas next week? It doesn't matter who you are cheering for in the Superbowl- we want to hear from you.
I know first hand that when we hear of incidents of gun violence in the news, the incidents that seem to get the most attention are high profile mass shootings. We know these events do not tell the complete story of gun violence in America. At Community Justice, we work to broaden the conversation about gun violence through building power with and for communities of color to end gun violence.
We are excited to work with the Players Coalition and Nevada Partners to host a Community Education training on February 7th in Las Vegas ahead of the Superbowl. The Players Coalition works with over 1400 professional athletes, coaches, and owners across leagues working to improve social justice and racial equality in our country. The Nevada Partners are helping to build a healthy, thriving, sustainable and progressive community.
We are also working with other local, state, and national advocates together like Equal Justice USA and Cities United to talk about ways to reduce violence in Vegas and across the state.
If you join us you will hear from the amazing organizers on the ground in Vegas, best practices from other states, and what you can do to get plugged into advocacy efforts in your community.
I hope you will be able to join us in Vegas next week!
