Join the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington
to press the Qatari government to demand Hamas immediately release
over 130 hostages still being held in Gaza.
We must continue to strongly encourage Qatar to apply maximum
pressure on Hamas.
Join us on Friday, February 2, 9:30 AM for another peaceful
gathering outside the Qatari Embassy (2555 M. St
NW) to ensure our community's voice is being
heard. Congressman David Trone will attend
and deliver remarks at Friday's gathering.
Why Qatar?
Qatar
provides funding to Hamas and offers
refuge to its leadership.
Qatar has helped to successfully mediate the release of more than
100 hostages.
But this is not enough.
Qatar must use its enormous leverage over Hamas and demand the
immediate release of more than 130 remaining hostages who have now
surpassed 100 days in captivity.
We want them home now.
What are we doing?
The Washington, D.C. region is home to the nation’s third largest
Jewish community, and the Qatari Embassy is in the heart of the
District of Columbia.
Our Jewish community is uniquely positioned to stress the absolute
need for Qatar to prioritize the release of American and Israeli
hostages.
We will peacefully gather to demand Qatar exert maximum pressure on
Hamas to set free all remaining hostages. This is the same message
expressed in a
bipartisan letter to President Biden last month.
With limited nearby parking options, we strongly encourage
attendees to use public transportation. The closest metro stations are
Foggy Bottom-GWU (Blue/Orange/Silver) and Dupont Circle (Red).
Materials and signage will be handed out at the gathering. Israeli
and American Flags and hostage posters are welcome.
