President Biden and Congress need to cut waste from the Pentagon budget.
John,
The United States spends nearly $1 trillion on defense each year. Despite failing six straight audits and spending nearly half of their budget on legacy defense contractors, Congress and the White House continue to rubber-stamp the Pentagon's budget.
True national security requires smart budgets, not big budgets. I was proud to be the lone NO vote on the House Armed Services Committee last year. It’s time for the White House and Congress to exercise our authority to demand smarter defense budgets and invest the savings in better opportunities for everyday Americans to not only survive but succeed.
President Biden and Congress need to cut waste from the Pentagon budget that rewards legacy defense contractors and start investing in programs that benefit the American people like Medicare For All, $10 a day childcare, and 7 million new affordable homes.
