Yesterday, Danielle Smith, Premier of Alberta, announced a shocking attack on our communities — one that will have life or death consequences.

Among other measures, the Government of Alberta intends to:

• Ban gender affirming care for young people
• Require parents to opt-in for any curriculum that involves sexual orientation or gender identity 
• Require parental notification for students of all ages who wish to change their name or pronouns at school
• Ban trans women from women’s sports 
• And more!

We expect to learn more later today and in the coming days and will be bringing legal action to challenge these assaults on our rights.

We have never faced such a direct attack on our communities by an elected government.
