January Policy Newsletter

** January is here!
------------------------------------------------------------
This month's newsletter will highlight legislation in state houses across the country. From West Virginia to Utah, leaders across the country are proposing bold and innovative policies.
Community Revival
Community revival is about improving prosperity for all Americans. Legislation has been introduced across the country to do just that, including:
* HB 415 ([link removed]) Introduced by Rep. Berny Jacques (R-FL) would mandate the creation of a website containing resources for pregnant mothers and parents.
* HB 4833 ([link removed]) Introduced by Del. Josh Holstein (R-WV) would require schools to provide information to 11th and 12th grade students on available college courses they may take.
* HR 35 ([link removed]) Introduced by Rep. Mazzie Christensen (R-MO) calls on Congress to reinstitute mandatory country-of-origin labeling on food.
* HB 4977 ([link removed]) Introduced by Del. Josh Holstein (R-WV) would mandate that, beginning in 2025, any establishment that chooses to install baby changing stations in a restroom must do so in both men's and women's restrooms.
* HB 2357 ([link removed]) Introduced by Rep. Chris Lonsdale (R-MO) requires public school students to use the bathroom of their biological sex.

Fair Markets
Creating an economy that works for families and American businesses is key to making a prosperous nation. Legislation that seeks to create a better economy includes:
* HR 5 ([link removed]) Introduced by Rep. Tyler Clancy (R-UT) recognizes the negative effects of increased trade with China and calls on Congress to support Pro-America trade policies.
* HB 164 ([link removed]) Also introduced by Rep. Tyler Clancy (R-UT) states that any form of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is not a legal tender in the state of Utah.

Stewardship
Eliminating foreign ownership of land is quickly becoming a priority for elected officials.
* HB. 5283 ([link removed]) Introduced by Del. Holstein (R-WV) would ban any person or organization that is affiliated with the Chinese government from purchasing and owning agricultural land
* HB 1571 ([link removed]) Rep. Christensen (R-MO) would prevent any alien or foreign business from owning agricultural land.

Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024
Over the past few weeks, we have been engaged in a campaign designed to inform Americans about the need to reauthorize certain provisions ([link removed]) from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act ([link removed]) does just that. Maintaining the Child Tax Credit will keep millions of children out of poverty. Additionally, R&D provisions will allow companies to fully unlock American innovation.
We hope you found this brief overview of impactful legislation helpful. As state legislative sessions continue, we hope to share more about what is going on in statehouses across the country.

Thank you,

Aiden Buzzetti
President
