John,
In 2016, I ran for Commissioner of Public Lands because I was determined to do my part to keep Washington State – the Evergreen state – evergreen. Despite being patronized and told to "wait my turn," I knew that in the face of climate change, we didn't have time to wait – we needed EPIC progress at EPIC speed.
Together, we broke barriers, bringing innovative solutions that transformed the Department of Natural Resources and Washington State into a national standard for wildfire response and mitigation.
In just six years, we've restored over 600,000 acres of forestlands, prevented millions of acres from burning, and conserved nearly 200,000 acres from development – creating good-paying jobs, investing in new technologies, and supporting our rural economy along the way.
Now, as catastrophic climate events become more frequent and our housing crisis deepens, our nation needs the same innovative solutions we've successfully brought to Washington. That's why I'm running for the 6th Congressional District.
Early fundraising is critical to building the team we need to reach every voter in Washington's 6th Congressional District. With my first end-of-month deadline at midnight, can I count on you to join me by contributing $5 today?
