John, I've been a pretty introverted person for most of my life.
Growing up, I always felt a call to serve. Seeing my father serve his country, joining the Air Force, and serving my community as a surgeon — creating change and uplifting the people in my community became my purpose. But, as my wife can tell you, I was always content to help behind the scenes.
Running for office was never in the cards. But all around me, I saw crisis after crisis.
I spent so much time treating gun violence victims, who were mostly young Black men, and nothing was changing. I watched patient after patient suffer because they couldn't afford care. As a Veteran, I saw my fellow Veterans struggling to re-enter civilian life after their service. As a father, I knew there was work left so my daughter could grow up in a world where she could thrive
I was always taught that in times of crisis, we need people who are willing to stand up and find solutions. I realized that to make the change I wished to see in the world, I had to take a stand.
Running for Congress isn't a step in my career. It’s the continuation of something I’ve been doing my entire life — answering the call to serve my community and my family in the best way I can.
Ahead of tonight’s crucial fundraising deadline, I’m asking: Will you make a donation of $5 or more to ensure we can hit our $75,000 end-of-month goal? You can use this link my team made >> https://secure.actblue.com/donate/brian-williams-january-2024
Onward,
Brian
