Dear John,
It is with a heart full of gratitude that I share bittersweet news that I will be relocating to California to be closer to my family, and therefore, I am announcing my departure as the Executive Director of Emerge New Mexico. This decision was not made lightly, and while it brings personal joy, leaving is never easy, especially when it involves parting ways with such an incredible network.
I extend my deepest gratitude to each and everyone of you—alums, donors, staff, volunteers, and supporters—for being the heart and soul of this organization. Together, we trained and supported more Democratic women and non-binary leaders from across New Mexico to run for office—and win! Over 420 Emerge New Mexico alums are serving in public office, and we
achieved a 97 percent win-rate, the highest in the organization’s 17 year history. We did that together!
As we navigate this transition, I am pleased to share that Barbara Jordan, Class of 2021, and interim Board Chair of Emerge New Mexico’s Board of Directors is stepping in to provide support during the transition. Barbara brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of our organization, and I am confident that under her guidance during the transition, Emerge New Mexico will continue to thrive. You may reach her at [email protected] or on her cell at 505-803-2003.
Be on the look out for communications from Barbara and the rest of the Emerge New Mexico Board about exciting programming and events in 2024!
Thank you for the privilege of serving as your Executive Director. I leave with a heart full of gratitude, memories that will endure, and the knowledge that the best chapters of Emerge New Mexico's story are yet to be written. Here’s to the 2024 election, and let’s go win!
With heartfelt appreciation,
