EPA: Funding to Address Indoor Air Pollution at Schools

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

 

The Notice of Funding Opportunity solicits applications from Tribes, states, territories, local governments/educational agencies, and nonprofit organizations to enable more low-income, disadvantaged, and Tribal kindergarten through twelfth grade (K-12) schools and/or school districts across rural, suburban, and/or urban areas to monitor and reduce GHG emissions and indoor air pollutants through the development and adoption of comprehensive indoor air quality (IAQ) management plans consistent with EPA’s IAQ Tools for Schools Action Kit and Framework, Energy Savings Plus Health Guidance, Preventive Maintenance Guidance, and other EPA recommended IAQ best practices.

Eligibility:

  • States (including the District of Columbia);
  • local governments and educational agencies;
  • U.S. territories and possessions; Indian Tribes; and nonprofit organizations.

EDA Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs

Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration

 

EDA solicits applications from applicants in order to provide investments that support construction, non construction, planning, technical assistance, and revolving loan fund projects under EDA’s Public Works program and EAA program (which includes Assistance to Coal Communities, Nuclear Closure Communities, and Biomass Closure Communities). Grants and cooperative agreements made under these programs are designed to leverage existing regional assets and support the implementation of economic development strategies that advance new ideas and creative approaches to advance economic prosperity in distressed communities. Through this NOFO EDA intends to advance general economic development in accordance with EDA’s investment priorities, but also to pursue projects that, where practicable, incorporate specific priorities related to equity, workforce development, and climate change resiliency so that investments can benefit everyone for decades to come.

  • State, City, or township governments
  • Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
  • Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education

FY 2024 National Infrastructure Investments

Department of Transportation, Office of the Under Secretary for Policy

 

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 (“Bipartisan Infrastructure Law,” or “BIL” ) authorized and appropriated $1.5 billion to be awarded by the Department of Transportation (“DOT”) for Local and Regional Project Assistance Program Grants under National Infrastructure Investments. This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) solicits applications for projects funded under the Local and Regional Project Assistance Program, known as the RAISE Grants program. If the FY 2024 Appropriations Act provides additional funding for the RAISE grants program and/or significantly different requirements for National Infrastructure Investment funds, the Department will amend this Notice with guidance on additional requirements.

 

Eligibility:

  • States and the District of Columbia;
  • any territory or possession of the United States;
  • a unit of local government;
  • a public agency or publicly chartered authority established by 1 or more States;
  • a special purpose district or public authority with a transportation function, including a port authority;
  • a Federally recognized Indian Tribe or a consortium of such Indian Tribes;
  • a transit agency;
  • and a multi-State or multijurisdictional group of entities.

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Grid Resilience and Innovative Partnerships (GRIP)

Department of Energy, National Energy Technology Laboratory

 

The Grid Deployment Office, in conjunction with the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, is issuing this FOA. Awards made under this FOA will be funded, in whole or in part, with funds appropriated by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, also more commonly known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law or BIL. The activities to be funded under this FOA support three BIL sections including Section 40101(c): Grid Resilience Grants, Section 40107: Smart Grid Grants, and Section 40103(b): Grid Innovation Program. Together DOE refers to these programs as the Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships or GRIP program.

 

Eligibility:

  • Topic Area 1 – Grid Resilience Grants
    • electric grid operator;
    • electricity storage operator;
    • electricity generator;
    • transmission owner or operator;
    • distribution provider;
    • fuel supplier;
    • And any other relevant entity, as determined by the Secretary.
  • Topic Area 2 – Smart Grid Grants
    • institutions of higher education;
    • for-profit entities;
    • non-profit and not-for-profit entities; and
    • state and local governmental entities, and tribal nations.
  • Topic Area 3 – Grid Innovation
    • a State;
    • a combination of 2 or more States;
    • an Indian Tribe;
    • a unit of local government; and
    • a public utility commission.

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) 40513: Career Skills Training

Department of Energy, Golden Field Office

 

The Career Skills Training Program will provide grants to eligible entities to pay the Federal share of Career Skills Training Programs under which students concurrently receive classroom instruction and on-the-job training for the purpose of obtaining an industry-related certification to install energy efficient building technologies. This program was established by Section 40513 of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, more commonly known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The goals of the program are to promote the collaboration between labor organizations and industry to attract, train, and employ workers; enhances existing programs for replication; and creates a diverse, skilled, and credentialed workforce that is positioned to install energy technologies to buildings.

 

Eligibility:

  • Nonprofit partnerships that:
    • (1) includes the equal participation of industry, including public or private employers, and labor organizations, including joint labor-management training programs;
    • (2) may include workforce investment boards, community-based organizations, qualified service and conservation corps, educational institutions, small businesses, cooperatives, State and local veterans agencies, and veterans service organizations.
      • The nonprofit partnership could include additional partners, such as: Energy Utilities and Associations; Coalitions; State Service Commissions; Workforce Development Providers; Faith-Based Organizations; Non-Profit Organizations; State Energy Offices

Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP)

Department of Labor, Veterans Employment and Training Service

The intent of HVRP, an employment-focused competitive Federal grant program, is to enable America’s veterans to reach their full employment potential and obtain high-quality career outcomes for veterans experiencing homelessness. The Department encourages applicants to propose strategies to achieve economic prosperity, address historical inequities, and provide equitable access and outcomes to marginalized groups. To meet the fluctuations in the population and changing needs of veterans experiencing homelessness, DOL/VETS requires grant recipients to provide an array of client-centered services utilizing a case management approach that directly assists homeless veterans and provides critical linkages to a variety of support services available in their local communities.

OVW: Legal Assistance for Victims

The Legal Assistance for Victims (LAV) Grant Program (CFDA 16.524) is intended to increase the availability of civil and criminal legal assistance needed to effectively aid victims (ages 11 and older) of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking by providing funds for comprehensive direct legal services to victims in legal matters relating to or arising out of that abuse or violence. “Legal assistance” includes assistance to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in: a) family, tribal, territorial, immigration, employment, administrative agency, housing matters, campus administrative, or protection or stay away order proceedings, and other similar matters; b) criminal justice investigations, prosecutions, and post-trial matters (including sentencing, parole, and probation) that impact the victim’s safety and privacy; c) alternative dispute resolution, restorative practices, or other processes intended to promote victim safety, privacy, and autonomy; and d) post-conviction relief proceedings in state, local, Tribal, or territorial court where the conviction of a victim is related to or arising from domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or sex trafficking. 34 U.S.C. § 12291(a)(24)(C) and (D).

21st Century Museum Professionals Program (2024)

Institute of Museum and Library Services

 

The 21st Century Museum Professional (21MP) grant program advances the growth and development of a diverse workforce of museum professionals. The 21MP program supports projects that offer professional development to the current museum workforce; employ strategies to train and recruit future museum professionals; and support evaluation efforts to identify and share effective practices. IMLS recognizes the important role of strong local and regional networks as an essential tool for providing peer to peer learning, training and mentoring opportunities. The 21MP program encourages applications from museum associations, museum studies programs at institutions of higher education, and museums that serve as key parts of the professional learning and training environment.

 

Eligibility:

Your organization must meet all three of the following criteria:

  1. Must be either a unit of State, local, or tribal government or be a private, nonprofit organization that has tax-exempt status under the Internal Revenue Code;
  2. Must be located in one of the 50 States of the United States of America; and,
  3. Must qualify as one of the following:
    1. A museum that, using a professional staff, is organized on a permanent basis for essentially educational, cultural heritage, or aesthetic purposes; owns or uses tangible objects, either animate or inanimate; cares for these objects; and exhibits these objects to the general public on a regular basis through facilities that it owns or operates.
    2.  An organization or association that engages in activities designed to advance the wellbeing of museums and the museum profession;
    3. An institution of higher education, including public and nonprofit universities; or
    4. A public or private nonprofit agency that is responsible for the operation of a museum that meets the eligibility criteria in 1, 2, and 3(a), applying on behalf of the museum.

NEA Grants for Arts Projects

National Endowment for the Arts

 

Grants for Arts Projects is our largest grants program for organizations, providing comprehensive and expansive funding opportunities for communities. Through project-based funding, the program supports opportunities for public engagement with the arts and arts education, for the integration of the arts with strategies promoting the health and well-being of people and communities, and for the improvement of overall capacity and capabilities within the arts sector. We welcome applications from a variety of eligible organizations, including first-time applicants; from organizations serving rural, urban, suburban, and tribal communities of all sizes; and from organizations with small, medium, or large operating budgets. An organization may submit only one application under these FY2025 Grants for Arts Projects guidelines. If an organization applies to the Challenge America category, it may not also apply to the Grants for Arts Projects category.
