Despite the best efforts of healthcare professionals, systemic faults leave chance that a medical error may occur. Adverse events where a patient is unintentionally harmed during their care can be dangerous, leading to injury or even death. Medical errors are preventable and they require systems change to reduce the risk of harm to future patients. We will be joined?by Felicidad Smith, MPH - CRP Manager at the Foundation for Health Care Quality. She will provide an overview of Communication and Resolution Programs (CRP) and there will be ample time for your questions.?

In this webinar, Dr Chow will cover the terms and case definitions associated with Post-COVID-19 diagnoses, describe the clinical features and risk factors as well as explore the epidemiology and possible etiologies for this diverse group of conditions. The webinar will be recorded, and continuing education is available for physicians (MDs), DOs and Physician Assistants (PA), medical assistants and nurses. Health Equity Continuing Education

The department has implemented Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill (ESSB) 5229. ESSB 5229 requires that health care professionals, subject to continuing education requirements, complete health equity continuing education training. This training must be taken at least once every four years. The department, in consultation with health care boards and commissions, was required to adopt model rules. These model rules establish the minimum standards for health equity continuing education training courses. Learn More [ [link removed] ]

*Connect your patients to WIC via new online WIC Interest Form*

The WA State Department of Health recently launched an online WIC Interest Form [ [link removed] ] and Washington WIC Clinic Locator [ [link removed] ]. Individuals, health care providers, and community-based organizations can use the simple online form to refer to the Washington WIC [ [link removed] ] Nutrition Program (Women, Infants, and Children Nutrition Program). The WIC Clinic Locator allows people to easily search for and connect with a local WIC Clinic.

WIC is for eligible [ [link removed] ] people who are pregnant, recently delivered a baby, breast and chest feeding, and infants and children under age five. Dads, grandparents, foster parents, or other guardians may apply for WIC for their children.

ABOUT THE COMMISSION?

Your WA Medical Commission (WMC) currently regulates about 34,000 licenses, more than 3,000 of which are Physician Assistants.?

The WMC is composed of 21 governor-appointed members, including:


* 13 physicians, one from each congressional district and three at-large positions
* Six public members
* Two physician assistants.

The WMC also employs staff based in Tumwater and Spokane, WA. The professional staff includes attorneys and physicians.?
